Description
Keron 3 was the tent we used during our winter skiing challenge from North Cape to Rovaniemi during the winter 2025.
Pros:
- This is a strong tunnel tent which is perfect tent for winter trips if you go above the treeline where you expect high wind.
- Durable and well made.
- Easy to set up in winter even if you are alone and it has enough space for 2 people. We don’t recommend this tent for 3 people specially during winter trip, because during winter you have more gears inside.
- Having 2 entrances with opposite openings is great because always one of the doors is not exposed to the wind.
- This tent has a vestibule which is nice to dig hole there for your fit and sit there and cook or pack the sledge or store gear etc.
- You have possibility to use a double pole if you need to.
- Hilleberg has a good customer service.
Cons:
- Hilleberg’s own snow stakes are not so good so we recommend getting another ones or making your own snow stakes.
- The zipper for ventilation is too small and gets frozen and it is impossible to open or close it during winter if you don’t have an opportunity to melt the zipper once in a while.
Tips: For winter, we highly recommend carrying the tent in a tent bag where you can leave half of the poles inside the tent and there is no need to completely pack the tent. We have wrote a review about it also here in our tent category. Below is the link straight to Fijellpulken’s tent bag which we used it and it was very well made (affiliate link):
