Peyman has used it for a few nights.
Pros:
- A great shelter for 2 people and for their gear for winter or autumn. You can squeeze the 3 rd person inside, but will be tight with a stove.
- 4 people have well space inside if there is no stove inside.
- I highly recommend to combine it with Seek Outside SXL titanium stove during winter and autumn trips. With a stove you can have +20°c inside when outside is -30°c.
- Perfect for long winter ski trips or hikes during autumn.
- You can dry your gear inside.
- Super lightweight but very durable.
- Simple and easy to fix.
- Works great for summer if you combine it with a half nest.
- The SXL standard stove is extremely durable and lightweight for what it does and it also packs pretty small.
- All in all imagine you are carrying your warm cottage in your backpack which weighs more or less 4 kg including stove tent etc..
- I recommend combining it with a half liner at least so you can manage condensation better when the stove is off.
- Perfect shelter if you live in Finland and you don’t go above the treeline.
Cons:
- It is expensive but very well worth the money
- I don’t recommend using it in winter at the mountains (Norway) or tunturi in Lapland, because it can be a big challenge with high wind in those regions
Tips: In winter you can setup the stove on top of snow by placing the stove on top of 2 long pieces of wood if you don’t want to dig all the way to the ground (check the product pictures). You can order it also without door screens (nets) since those add your shelter’s weight and have not so much effect on keeping the mosquitoes away.
